Lost and Found In Translation:
Common Traits in Korean, Japanese and Cherokee

This paper was written for a class conducted on the reservation of the Eastern Band of the Cherokee in Cherokee, NC in June 2007. I have since presented it at two colloquiums/symposiums; the first was a special colloquium held to honor the inauguration of WVU President Michael Garrison (please see news/press), and the second was at the Native American Studies Research Symposium (please see news/press) where I also presented my video essay on Lakota youth culture (please see media to view this video essay).

This poem was selected as a finalist in the 5th Annual Hungry Poets Contest in Morgantown, WV and was subsequently read during the 5th Hungry Poets Night at the Blue Moose Cafe in April 2008.

This poem was published in the 2009 edition of Calliope, the annual West Virginia University undergraduate literature and art journal. Two photographs were also published; "A Wish And A Prayer" and "McRickshaw".
